NBA-SLP 2023 Conference: Legal Practice Without Borders

The Nigerian Bar Association’s Section on Legal Practice (NBA-SLP) successfully held its annual conference from July 16 to July 19, 2023, in Abuja, Nigeria. The theme of the conference was “Legal Practice Without Borders,” focusing on the ever-evolving landscape of the legal profession and the need to adapt to the challenges and opportunities presented by a globalized world.

The event featured a diverse program, including plenary sessions, byte-size series discussions, a young litigators’ debate, and social networking opportunities. Esteemed legal practitioners, judges, and industry experts shared their knowledge on various topics, ranging from Dispute Resolution in Investment Matters to Medico-Legal Solutions and Artificial Intelligence in the legal field.

Chief Ferdinand Orbih, KSG SAN FCArb, the Section Chairman of NBA-SLP and Chief Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN, the Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee both delivered welcome addresses, highlighting the importance of the conference in fostering meaningful conversations and networking among legal professionals.

The participants explored emerging challenges and opportunities in the legal profession and envisioned a future that promotes excellence in legal practice. They engaged in discussions on global issues, including technology’s impact on the legal landscape and the boundaries of legal services in an interconnected world.
