FOLASHADE ALLI, SAN CARB

Mrs. Folashade Alli, SAN, C.Arb (UK), is a distinguished legal practitioner with about four decades of experience as a legal Practitioner. A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Fellow and Chartered Arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), she leads Folashade Alli & Associates, a Lagos-based firm recognized for excellence in arbitration, corporate and commercial advisory, oil and gas, and governance consulting.

She holds an LL.B from the University of Lagos, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985, earned an LL.M from University College London in 1987, and was called to the English Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1990.

Before founding Folashade Alli & Associates (formerly VATAd Solicitors) in 2003, she worked with Robert Sykes Q.C. and John Roberts Q.C. in London, and with Aluko & Oyebode in Lagos. She also served as Group Legal Adviser to the Bolloré Group, covering SDV, Transcap, Wasa Delmas, and Alraine Shipping Agencies.

Mrs. Alli currently serves as Chairperson of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice (NBA-SLP), promoting professional excellence and supporting lawyers across Nigeria. She previously served as Vice Chairperson and led key committees, including the Law Firm Management Committee and the International Trade Law Committee.

An accomplished arbitrator, she has served as Chairman, sole arbitrator, and panel member in complex disputes across major sectors. She represents Nigeria as a Commissioned Member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR in Paris and serves on the Professional Conduct Committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).

She is also a WIPO-selected IP trainer, a licensed Capital Markets Operator, Notary Public, and Approved Tutor of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
